Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth and are created to function and appear as your natural teeth.
With removable dentures usually healthy teeth are not interfered with, as the dentures are fixed together with a plate that, either connects at the roof of the mouth or behind the tongue. These are fixed together using clips or special devices. Clips are unfortunately visible and also allows the denture some movement.
There are options using technology where the fixings are aesthetically unquestionable and don’t allow the denture any movement, but these are more expensive and other non-affected teeth also need to be involved.
With all such tooth replacement procedures it’s worth leaving time for a consultation with the dentist, and treatment should only be started when all aspects of the treatment are clear to the patient. In this way disappointment and dissatisfaction can be avoided on both sides (patient and dentist).
